Get to know our Church Family

We are a community of people from all walks of life, races, gender, tribes and tongues, seeking to know God more, serve Him better, and love Him deeper. We are broken ordinary people, made special by the wholesome grace of the God who chose to love and redeem us, and we cannot help but celebrate that in our Church.

At The Household, we encourage everyone to nurture and develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, to taste and see that the Lord is very good.
We are a caring Church that is committed to bringing people and families back to their God, through the simple uncomplicated preaching of Gods word, Christ-centered-spirit-filled praise and worship and the genuine practical love of all human fellows.

We remain a Christ-centered Church, that is Evangelical in faith, Pentecostal in doctrine, Charismatic in worship and caring in our relationships with each other. OUR MISSION

Our mission statement can be summed up in one word: REACH.

Reaching Up | Loving God:
Vertical reach to touch God. We reach up through worship.

Reach In | Serving Each Other:
Horizontal reach to bless others.We serve God by serving each other.

Reach Out | Changing The World:
Outward reach to can change the world. We have to be bold and courageous. Jesus commanded us to go into the entire world and present the good news.

OUR VISION

A place where a person with no church background can come and feel comfortable and enjoy the service because the atmosphere will be friendly. The sermons are always practical, biblical and relevant. The music is contemporary and upbeat with a praise team and full band.

A church that is fun for the entire family, a church where kids want to go because they have a great time experiencing God’s love. A church that builds families.

These dreams are being fulfilled because they are inspired by God!

OUR CHURCH HISTORY

God founded Household of Christ Church in June of 2004, through a couple, Stella & Chris Uyanwune, in their then small apartment located in North-East Washington DC, with about 7 people in attendance. The Church immediately started to enjoy the grace of God, so much so that within a couple of months, we moved to the then Ramada Hotel in New Carrollton, Maryland. Shortly after, in 2005, we again moved into our first site in Capitol Heights Maryland. However, in a few years, we outgrew this location, that in 2014, through the special grace of God, we again moved to our present Church facility.

Pastor’s Stella & Chris both hold a master’s degree in Theology from Calvary Christian College, Waldorf Maryland. They have been married since November of 1999 and are blessed to be parents of two wonderful kids – their son Tobenna, and Gosife, their very adorable daughter.

Household of Christ Church is a family Church rooted in love as taught by Jesus Christ. This is evidenced by the relationship between the pastorate and the congregants, and the relationship between individual members. In the Household of Christ Church, we love and laugh.
